No to the Disclosure Regulations for Third-party Fundraisers

FINZ and PFRA have been collaborating on behalf of our respective members. In April, we made a joint submission to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, competition and consumer policy team, regarding information Disclosure Regulations for Third-party Fundraisers making requests for charitable purposes. We submitted that the proposed regulations should not proceed and our submission can be accessed here.

Addressing Fundraiser Skills Shortage with Immigration

We have also been busy addressing the Fundraiser Skills Shortage. FINZ has collaborated with PFRA to work with an Immigration consultant to try to get some fundraising vacancies onto NZ Immigration's Short Term Skills list to aid charity recruitment of hard-to-fill vacancies. We are targeting Face-to-Face Fundraising Team Leader roles in the first instance with a number of member's involved in the process of evidencing the shortage so we can highlight the issues to Immigration. Abigail Smith of Greenpeace is leading this project and has contracted Immagine Immigration Consultants. Thank you to all members who are involved in supporting this project. We will keep you up to date with developments.
