2016 Soar Print Fundraising Excellence Awards

Call for Entries

Open to all charities, be recognised for best practice fundraising, professionalism and the good works you do for your cause. Give your donors, funders, board, staff, volunteers and the public the confidence that you’re doing good things, and doing them well.

We are taking entries now for the 2016 Soar Print Fundraising Excellence Awards.

Any charity can enter an award for activity primarily conducted in the 2015 calendar year.

Entry is free for FINZ members. $230 per entry for non members. (plus gst).

Entries close date – 26 February 2016    EXTENDED

      Thoughtful, deliberate planned gifts as specified in a donor’s will

      An intensive fundraising effort designed to raise a specified sum of money within a defined period to meet the varied asset-building needs of your organisation.

      Inspired gifts that have a significant impact on the development programme of an organisation

      Donor acquisition, retention and growth programmes

Winning Entries

Judges may present one Gold Award for Excellence in each category and can also choose to award Silver and Bronze awards.  

Gold Awards -  Will be awarded for entries demonstrating good principles and practice, but also setting new benchmarks in the way the campaign was executed, including creativity and innovation.

Supreme Award - The Soar Print FINZ Fundraising Excellence Award

The supreme award is not a guaranteed annual award. It is reserved for those campaigns which are stand-out examples of exemplary fundraising, not only ticking all the boxes but going the extra distance including involving the whole organisation, fitting in with the organisation’s strategic direction as well as involving meticulous planning and execution with a high level of detail.

The Supreme Award will be considered from the Gold Award winners of the specific fundraising categories.


Judging Criteria

This is a summary of the judging criteria, however each category has its own more specific criteria and is detailed on the entry form.

  1. Planning and execution including clearly defined need and case for support, target audience, situation analysis etc.
  2. Beneficiary Outcome
  3. Donor development (acquisition, retention and growth – year on year, donor pyramid cycle progression)
  4. Revenue generation (overall, percentage growth year on year, operation vs beneficiary ratio, net income as a percentage of gross)
  5. Staff contribution, resources and morale (whole of organisation contribution including board, salaried staff and volunteers)
  6. Research - background, bench marking internally and externally
  7. Relationship management - before, during and after
  8. Innovation and risk factors
  9. Legacy and future opportunities
