Being Your Authentic Self
Personal Branz Process
Every organisation has the same bottom line: the ‘buy-in’. It doesn't just come from believing in the brand, or the organisation you're representing. The most important factor is often the connection the supporter has with the person behind the organisation, on the other end of the phone or computer keyboard. To get a result across the line, you must earn trust.
You do that by projecting authenticity, confidence, and passion when you contact new leads or meet with valued donors and supporters. To create that true connection, you need to have a clear sense of who you are and what you have to offer.
That's what Maaike Christie-Beekman from Personal Branz spoke about at the FINZ conference in May. She and her business partner, Pallas Hupé Cotter call it defining and broadcasting your Personal Brand.
Maaike points out, "this isn't just about self-promoting, we take it to a deeper level. Each of us adds a little flavour to the organisations we work for; the services that we provide; the interaction we have with others. It goes beyond your skills and knowledge. It is about honouring your true values and passions and playing to your strengths. Your Personal Brand goes right to your core. Once you define who you are and learn to communicate that, you naturally come across as more authentic and powerful. It makes it easier to pick up the phone and ask someone to believe and invest in what you're promoting."
You can also have a little fun with it.
Maaike and Pallas like to tell clients to imagine themselves as a fancy chocolate - with a little hint of what's inside visible on the outside, a mixture of different layers that make you unique and authentic."
People respond to that kind of honesty. They feel it. And that is the foundation of building a trustful relationship.
Maaike & Pallas help people through their Personal Branz Process to define, create and connect to their own source of strength. They also help people with their interpersonal communication skills and provide techniques to make stronger connections with others.
