FFINZ, CEO, Canterbury Medical Research Foundation
Kate Russell is a FINZ Board member and Fellow of the Institute. Winner of an Excellence Award in 2008 and experienced lecturer and trainer in fundraising, Kate is currently CEO of the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation and Commercial Director of the NZ Brain Research Institute. Previously CEO of Cystic Fibrosis NZ, Kate has also worked for a number of other well-known New Zealand charities and has run her own fundraising consultancy business; OTS Communications. She is a Trustee of the Pacific Pathways trust and mentors many other charities on an ongoing basis. Kate was a finalist in the NZ Women of Influence Awards 2015.

This session explores ways for you to engage your Board and staff in your organisation to help them to become great ambassadors for your cause and help you to get great results. In this session you will be challenged to be brave in getting your Board over the "I give my time - that's enough" mentality and get them fully engaged in raising funds for your organisation's mission. With stories 'from the coal face' Kate will help, through role playing and real scenarios, to raise increase your ability to motivate and energise everyone in your organisation to take on the role of cheerleader.
