Communities and Government: Potential for Partnership
The Ministry of Social Policy
Community Policy Team, 2001.
The Working Party that reviewed the relationship between central government and community voluntary iwi/Maori organisations is delighted to be sending you this summary of its report.
The summary reflects the many voices heard across the community throughout Aotearoa/New Zealand.
The recommendations, which are reproduced in full, combine actions that could be taken immediately by Government with the suggestion that on other issues there was a need for further work.
Now it is over to both government and community and iwi organisations to develop the potential for partnership. The Working Party offers you this summary report with some optimism and a confidence that the goodwill shown over the last year can translate into positive and practical change.
